HUNGARY (Feb 2007 – Dec 2007)

Only three pictures.  But the still make me sad.

Wien  with Linda and Mick. An appetizer.

Stopover on the way to Vienna. A pre-appetizer.

Trip with Blair to Szeged.

Continuing the tradition abroad.

Only a couple of pics from Rhona’s camera.  To see more, visit Bobby and Leah’s Hungary 2007 Page.

Got to touch everything!

Very cool.

A long walk in the Buda Hills and a couple of pics of Air Race practice

Beautiful place.  Highly recommend.

Four events.

Beautiful Sunset.

Hiking and touring the Balaton peninsula.

Touring and drinking.  Too much of the latter for me.

Five different events.

She left us. Szimpla Kert & West Balkan.

Perfect day hike.

Mmmm….Indian and drinks.

Not just June 2, but thereabouts.  Drinking in Budapest and excellent pizza in Visegrad.

First a celebration in the city park.  This involved fireworks which fell onto our head after exploding in the sky…a truly Hungarian’ experience.  Then trip with Rhona, Linda and Mick to Martonvásár.

Leah and Bobby's Wedding,  May 19, 2007

(It’s in green cause I think it’s significant enough J)

The wedding, as seen through the eye of Rhona’s camera.  We start off with the mildly incriminating bachelorette party, followed by pics around Santa Cruz, and finally the wedding itself.  All ran VERY smoothly.  I was impressed.  An excellent five day vacation from Hungary!  See more pics linked from my brother’s photo album.

Weekend in Győr, city/town in northeast Hungary and Panonhalma, oldest monestary in Hungary.  Images 1 to 18 are in Győr, and the rest are Panonhalma.  The best parts of Győr were the baths (not pictured).  Too many good parts of Panonhalma.  If pressed, I’d say the wine was the best – made from real monks!

Just a simple trip to Városliget in Budapest for the anniversary celebrations and some random photos around Budapest and Nagymező street.

Day trip to Szentendre with Mike, Ági, Mick, Natasha and Linda.  I was going to say that this town is underrated…but we arrived early in the morning.  The “tourists” arrived an hour later.
Excellent museum (we only saw one of the many), scenery, and (Hungarian) Mexican food.  I’ll have to explore the town in greater depth another time.

Yes, I was very gay in Paris.  Stayed with Rhona’s friend Emma in Montmartre (near Moulin Rouge), hung out with Cris and Sarah (our fellow CELTA expats), drank and ate.  Beautiful weather.  Did I mention “J’aime la Paris”?

Saw a lot in 6 days.  But not everything – only enough to whet the appetite.  I think I’ll go back there next weekend.

Short weekend trip to my town of origin.  This is the town my grandfather grew up in.  I found a fellow “Gramajszky”, but I was too chicken to give her a call.  But, I will.  Once I learn Hungarian.  Such a beautiful town.  Why would my grandfather want to emigrate to New York???  I don’t get it.

Rhona’s ‘Wee Slappy’ came to visit in Budapest.   Let the record show that Catriona is the FIRST to visit us in our new country of residence.   We toured around ‘the Pest’ (and Buda, of course) and hit up Visegrad – incredibly beautiful scenery along the Danube.   Excellent pizza too.

February to March, 2007.  Our arrival in Budapest.  We found good people.  They seem harder and harder to find these days.   Too bad they decided to ditch us for other (less exciting, of course) places.  I have nothing bad to say about Spain or Budapest.

BRITAIN (Sept 05 – Feb 2007)

Short visit to Cambridge.  February 1-4, 2007.  Two posh pictures of Me, Rhona, and Bobby going to the poshest dinner in the world.  Posh posh.  Culture shock in a way I never expected.  That’s a good thing, to be sure.

Rhona’s b-day in Glasgow, 2007.   Short and sweet trip to the Local + the Garage for drinks and dance before heading to Budapest.

11–15 January, 2007.  Went to Ireland for five days to see the cousins.  Funny how the west coast of Ireland has the same weather as the west coast of Scotland.  All and all, very good.  Had Chinese food, a few Guinni, and saw a few sights.  An excellent break from temping!  Oh, and Limerick seems nicer than how Frank McCourt describes it! J

Some pics from a recent trip to the Ayr coast on January 2nd 2007.   I’m very proud of myself for putting photos on the web the same day they were taken.

So I did actually graduate, only after spending a ridiculous amount of money…oh, and doing a bit of work as well, I suppose.  Check out grad pics from 29 November 2006.

See if you’re featured in the California Trip of 2006!  Or just check out the pics.  First LA, then Sequoia, then SF, then Yosemite, then LA, then Whitney, and finally, LA.  I’m very proud of myself for maintaining my website after a long period of neglect.

These are random photos of drinking and karaoke-ing in Edinburgh, 2005-6.  I got drunk enough to sing Basket Case, my one and only.

From when Danny came to visit in July 2006.  Just one night out in the good-old Biblos (drinks for £1.75).  Only the finest and cheapest for me.

Trip to the Highlands with Rhona, Dad and Sue on 24th of June, 2006.  Very short trip.  A day, in fact.  Not enough time to do justice to Nessy, Glencoe, and Soldier’s leap.

1.5 weeks in Spain. Great to be back in just about the best country in the world. Started out in Benidorm with my bro's statistics conference (a British colony in Valencia...where neds and chavs tend to get "pure steamin'"), went hiking outside the city, in Finestrat, and south to the Sierra Nevada to climb El Mulhacén and El Veleta.

Roslyn. Rhona and I. Both too cheap to pay the £6 to get in the chapel. Maybe next time, after reading The Da Vinci Code. Didn't actually take any pictures of the chapel either cause it's covered in scaffoding (for protection?). But got in some good walking around the glen and castle. Nicenessitivationality.

Trip to Newcastle with Rhona for Feeley's birthday. Yet another Dartmouth reunion. Good times.

Some very overdue photos from a weekend in Bath. It was a Dartmouth reunion in Britain!

DARTMOUTH   (Aug 2004 – August 2005)

Big family and friends Sequoia trip. Check out the sliding videos!

Touristy pictures from NYC. Sorry about that. Good trip though. Good people.

I know. I'm a geek. They removed the old Dartmouth scanner. Everyone watched. Everyone's a geek.

We started the hike too late. Ended up sliding on our asses down the whole icy trail.

Rosa's visit and a walk around the lake, April, 2005

Trip to the vineyards in Santa Cruz with brothers and significant others

The absolutely unforgettable Quebecois experience. Great friends...awesome bar...What were they singing about again?

Too drunk at Emlyn's for Football day...Way too drunk at Eve's later the same night.

Quick trip to Boston, some fotos around Cambridge

Just some pics around the new place in Enfield, New Hampster.

Kick-ass trip across the country w/ Jiayi that I doubt I'll forget.

Winter Break 2003-4

Thanksgiving 2003: My brother and I (and recently Leah), we eat two Thanksgiving dinners on the same night. We pretend to be hungry for the second dinner. The first dinner is with Mom's side of the family at Linda's house in Calabasas. The second is at Dad's.

Some 21st Birthday Photos
I just got my digital camera. It ran out of batteries so this collection is not very big. Some of the pics were taken just to play with the camera. We went to Zacharies and Thalasa. Dad taught me a few lessons at pool and shuffleboard. But I schooled him.

In October (2003), I went ahead and got my brain scanned. Just a normal check-up to make sure things are still ticking up there. Not really. I participated in an fMRI psych experiment. It was long and not that fun. But the good news is that the graduate student told me I don't have any lesions. So, if you want to see the neural basis for true excellence, click below.

Spain Album! June 13-> August 27, 2003

This is the long awaited album and, GOD, did this take a lot of work!

UK Trip, over the Winter of 2001-2002
Bobby and my first time off the continent.  Check out the pics.  All I remember is that I was very drunk and don’t remember much.  19 and let loose on London.  We spent WAY too much money.  I’ve never been anywhere so expensive.  Oh, I remember getting Binks to say “Shit, yo” and seeing him throw chips at random people on the street.
